red tent workshop

The YWCA will be hosting "Tend and Befriend" women's lunch series in the Fall. Hosted by wellness experts Barbara Rhode and Annette Reiter, the event will provide women with a space to meet, connect, and network with each other. Additionally, workshops will be presented on health, stress, forgiveness, celebration, and more.

The series was created in response to a recent UCLA study on women, which revealed that women react to stress differently than men. Findings suggest that, when stressed, women release brain chemicals that cause them to "tend and befriend" other women. This type of bonding helps counter stress and produces a calming effect in individuals

Nia will also be offered each class. Nia is a technique, an expressive movement form and lifestyle practice that uses The Body's Way to achieve physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being.

A $5 donation per event to the YWCA of Tampa Bay is suggested. Additionally, participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.

No registration is required.
